Although there are no formal requirements for this class, students are expected to have a good understanding of the fundamentals of classical mechanics covered in “Física I”. Students are also expected to be fluent with vector calculus as covered in “Anàlisi Matemàtica II”.
Some topics and concepts in this class are fundamental for later courses. In particular, the concepts of special relativity covered in the first part of the course are needed for the most advanced topics covered in “Electromagnetisme” (later in the same quarter). The concept of Hamiltonian is key in “Física Quàntica” (Q4) and “Mecànica Estadística” (Q5). |
