General description and relevant information

Introduction to translational medicine and clinical -omics. It includes the very fundamentals of next generation sequencing and mass spectrometry technologies and their application to -omics (transcriptomics, epigenomics, metagenomics,  proteomics, and metabolomics). Students will be taught common bioinformatics pipelines to get clinically relevant information  from sequencing and mass spectrometry raw data. In addition -omics data quality assessment and the impact of experimental design are going to be discussed.

This course is coordinated by Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Dept. Enginyeria Electrònica, Elèctrica i Automàtica) in collaboration with Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
