This course studies and analyses the models of second language teaching and learning that have existed throughout history up to the present day from a theoretical and practical point of view. The objectives of this course are: 1. 1. To learn about the historical evolution of the different methodologies in foreign language teaching. 2. 2. To become familiar with the basic concepts of foreign language teaching and learning methodologies. 3. To reflect on the different components in the development of foreign language programmes. 4. 4. To reflect on the role of the teacher and the learner in foreign language classes. 5. To study in depth the different methods of teaching and learning foreign languages.
