General description and relevant information |
This course offers an introduction to the study of the relationship between language, society and the indivuidual. In this course, language is perceived as a social practice, focusing on different aspects of its role in human societies. The topics covered include the history of English, English as a global language, language and power, multilingualism and language and the media. |
