| General description and relevant information | The course offers a general overview of the historical development of English Literature from its beginnings up to the 19th century, focusing on the main characteristics , as well as the historical, social, cultural and artistic context, of each period. The course deals mainly with canonical texts, and establishes a foundation for the study of other literature in English. | |||||||||||||||||
