La assignatura adreça, fonamentalment, tots els conceptes bàsics en comunicacions analògiques. Tot i que anem cap un mon digital, aquests conceptes son bàsics per entendre els pilars fonamentals de qualsevol sistema de comunicacions: diagrama de blocs, concepte de soroll i interferències, tipus de modulacions bàsiques, esquemes de circuits per emissors i receptors, el receptor superheterodí, etc.
