Should there be a health emergency that requires the general public to be confined or which involves restricted mobility during the academic year, we shall attempt to adapt teaching and assessment. Should this situation arise, information about any changes will be given on the Moodle space for every subject.
The course addresses first the biogenesis of secondary metabolites, and the procedures for determining these mechanisms. Next, the methods of isolation and recovery of natural products are treated from their original source. Finally, natural products are treated according to their industrial applications, such as drugs, dyes, aromas and fragrances, etc. The course also organizes seminars on current issues related to natural products such as energy, food additives, patents, etc.
