| General description and relevant information | Viruses and subviral particles) are the smallest genetic units known. In spite of their apparent simplicity, they have developed throughout the evolution a plasticity and a series of genetic strategies exclusive to nature in order to perpetuate itself. The knowledge of its functioning at the genetic and molecular level has an immense biotechnological potential.
