The subject Territory and landscape. Territorial projects has the aim of introduce to the students of architecture the knowledge of the landscape as a discipline and professional fields, differentiated and coincidental with the conventional architecture, but also with the geography, the art, the environmental sciences, the sociology... The subject has a practical character, developed across the definition, on the part of the student, of a territorial project for a certain area. This way, the student realizes an analysis, diagnosis, and establishes a few suggestions of aims and performances for the improvement of the quality of the landscape. On this basis, the subject has three main purposes: 1. To contextualize the legal and administrative framework in which is the landscape in Catalonia. 2. Introduce students to the valuation of the changing relationship that society sets in the modification of our environment and how it, according to the times, is marked by one principles or others. 3. Give a series of essential tools to analyse and project the landscape through guidelines of basic reading, and use the essential components of the landscape, both physical and cultural rights in its creation. The practical part of the course takes place in the framework of the “Programa d'Aprenentatge-Servei de la URV”. (http://www.urv.cat/estudis/serveis_virtuals/AprenentatgeServeialaURV.html).
