Fundamentals of Journalism is a course designed to transmit the classic basic knowledge of the journalistic profession but, at the same time, it has the objective of collecting the new trends that drive, reformulate and sometimes threat the profession. The subject raises a reflection on the function of journalism today, basic issues such as newsworthiness, journalistic ethics, the influence of public relations or the evolution of journalistic narratives. Students are introduced to the production of journalistic pieces. Without ceasing to learn about journalistic orthodoxy, the student is immersed in a reflection on the new forms of journalism, the current challenges of the profession and how classical journalistic values ??have to be adapted in a complex environment. It is a subject designed for and aimed at communication students in general, both those interested in more ethical aspects and elements of the aesthetics of journalistic communication. |
