-DESCRIPTIVE TEXTS I: Making descriptions interesting. Describing pictures, objects, products, people, places. -NARRATIVE TEXTS I Narrative and connecting words. Biographical narratives. Newspaper stories. Eye-witness and narrative reports. -LETTERS I Informal letters: technical matters (layout), diplomacy and tact. Formal letters. -LITERARY TEXTS -LEAFLETS, BROCHURES AND INFORMATION SHEETS |
- Reading techniques for all the texts: How to read a text. Understanding the text as a whole. Skimming for main ideas. Scanning and retrieving specific information. Identifying information to perform a task. Dealing with difficult vocabulary. Understanding complicated sentences. Writer's intention; use of language. Interpreting. Understanding the principles of grammar. -Writing techniques / work Produce paragraphs for open-ended questions. Produce descriptive and narrative texts, letters, summaries, brochures etc. Apply the principles of grammar: tenses, question formation, reported speeach, modal verbs. Correct errors and make improvements. |
