There will be a series of texts for which the student will have to produce paragraphs for open-ended questions, or write summaries. There will also be multiple choice tests. Three samples of this kind of exercises will be evaluated by the teacher; the rest will be corrected in class with the participation and discussion of the group of students.
-Students will also autocorrect / evaluate their own activities.
In general, questions, tasks and activities are designed to demonstrate the following priorities:
-that students can form an overall impression of the text;
-they can retrieve specific information, interpret it, use it and explain small pieces of grammar.
Class attendance at each session is expected, and active participation is essential.

Throughout the course there will be four written assignments:
-one descriptive essay that can be of a person, a place, an object or a picture.
-one narrative story
-one letter (formal or informal; to be determined)
-one tourist brochure.

In the process of marking and grading the teacher will take into account the following:
-mistakes (how many and what kind)
-successful task achievement
-accuracy
-cohesion & coherence
-content & register
-organization
-handwriting
