General description and relevant information |
The aim of this course is to provide the student with an introduction to phonology and phonetics in general and to the phonological and phonetic characteristics of the Spanish language in particular. Basic concepts of phonology, articulatory phonetics, acoustic phonetics and perceptual phonetics are introduced. Students are expected to master practical aspects such as phonological transcription, phonetic transcription, the definition of phonemes and allophones, and the correlation between acoustic and articulatory features. |
