General description and relevant information |
What is the RM: The Resistance of materials is the science that deals with the calculation of the mechanical resistance, stiffness and stability of the parts of a structure (machines or building). The objective of the RM: Establish the criteria of an element to determine the most convenient material, the most suitable shape and dimensioning, to resist external forces in the most economical way. Objective of the subject: That the student develops the ability to analyze an RM problem in a simple and logical way by applying fundamental principles to its solution. |
