General description and relevant information |
Fundamentals of Psychobiology provides the basic knowledge to identify molecular elements and systems from biology and neuroscience in the analysis and study of behavior. Cognitive Objectives: To know the basic principles of biology for their application to the study of normal and pathological behavior. Know the basic principles of human genetics and evolution applied to the study of behavior. Know the basic organization of the Nervous System, and the characteristics of nervous tissue. Understand the principles of neural communication. Know the basic principles of neuroendocrinology. Procedural Objectives: Know how to describe the main psychobiological study and intervention techniques and their applications. Learn to use telematics tools for searching and organizing information. Attitudinal objectives: Assess the relevance of integrating multiple disciplines including psychobiological explanations for the study of behavior. Foster interest in the scientific study of behavior. Favor the establishment of necessary links between medical, biological sciences and Psychology. |
