| Topics for speaking and listening practice A number of different topics will be followed and for each there will be a listening test and oral presentation. |

| Theory | - Discourse features and strategies to include: problem-solution discourse patterns, strategies for active listening, ellipsis and substitution, concession and contrast, agreeing and disagreeing, conversation-building and modifying comments. - Introduction to IPA symbols and problems for Spanish and Catalan speakers |
