General description and relevant information

·        Given the current health emergency, during the 2020-21 academic year, the Faculty’s courses will exceptionally and temporarily be taught in either a face-to-face, a blended or an online format depending on the regulations issued by the health authorities and any other competent bodies and if the spatial requirements allow it.

·        This subject combines face-to-face and blended learning in a percentage that has yet to be confirmed. When the academic year starts, the calendar with all of the planned teaching activities (with timetables and classrooms) will be available from the Moodle online campus for each subject.

·        This teaching guide is provisional only. If any health emergency arises it will be adapted in order to comply with the directives issued by the competent bodies. Any modification will be announced via the news forum on the Moodle online campus.

·        If there is a new lockdown and/or any modification to the sections of the teaching guide, the adjustments that need to be made to teaching practices will be announced via Moodle.

The objectives of this course are the following:

  • To introduce students to the concepts about Teaching and Learning a second Language/foreign Language.
  • To learn about the main current theories, approaches, practices and activities in ELT.
  • To provide materials and activities to help students in their professional development as well as a reflection of their own teaching.

(*)The teaching guide is the document in which the URV publishes the information about all its courses. It is a public document and cannot be modified. Only in exceptional cases can it be revised by the competent agent or duly revised so that it is in line with current legislation.
