This course introduces students with basic concepts of cultural tourism, one of the forms of tourism recording the highest growth rates world-wide, and one which presupposes the most direct interrelationships between tourism, territory and local society. It will deal with this topic according to a multi-disciplinary perspective, in line with the most recent developments in social sciences about the ‘cultural’ phenomenon, and will offer a mix of conceptual subjects and practical examples to better challenge the problematic elements of cultural tourism and its transcendence for good management of tourism in the territory.
