Students will give a 15-minute presentation on a case-study of their choice. They are expected to engage with the conceptual framework and theoretical questions addressed in that week’s reading, making use of at least one secondary text from the syllabus. Students receive instructions on how to prepare for this beforehand and are recommended to work together. There is no re-sit opportunity for this assignment. 20%
Portfolio / Learning Guide

Students will keep a portfolio during the course where they will include a summary of each reading assignment (4 in total, one for each unit) and all their homework. As a requirement to submit the portfolio, the students need to attend 75% of the classes. 5%

Students will submit three written assignments: (1) a book report (15%), (2) an abstract (10%), and (3) a linguistic diary with a reflection on the student's own linguistic practicesresearch essay (40%). 65%
Multiple-choice objective tests

Each block will contain a short "Google Docs" quiz regarding the issues of the block itself. The otal grade of them will be a 15%, not 15% each! 15%

Class attendance is compulsory. The students need to attend a minimum of 75% of the classes to be able to submit their portfolios.

Students will have to complete a multiple choice test based on the four units of the course and also, they need to complete a written exercise around a topic included in the course.


If the public health situation requires a reduction in physical attendance, examination will be adapted to comply with the directives issued by the relevant organisations. Any changes will be notified via the news forum on Moodle.
