General description and relevant information

The aim of the subject is to learn how the Internet and data networks work. Provides general knowledge and skills on the operation of relevant concepts and technologies in the information society. For Computer Engineering and Telecommunications students, the "general culture" provided by the subject is essential to be able to deploy web and telecommunications services, or to work in IT security. It also provides you with the basic knowledge to facilitate future accreditations in network technologies. For students of Biomedical Engineering it provides the necessary knowledge to make deployments of hardware and software for the field of health in real environments (where, after all, there are networks and servers). Telecommunications students have subjects on signal transmission, antennas, optical technologies, etc. which we do not address in this subject.
