The preparation of the Master Thesis is carried out under the supervision of the director of the selected work proposal. The student is integrated into the research team which proposed the work. The students will therefore participate in seminars, meetings, debates, exhibitions, conferences and other activities of the research team. 40%

Students will give an oral presentation and will defense his Master's Thesis in English.
The oral presentation should be no more than 20 minutes, followed by a period of approximately 15-20 minutes for questions.
The jury will be composed of a maximum of three doctors belonging to research groups related to the masters program. The most experienced academic among them will act as president.
Supervisors will not participate as a member of the jury.

Other comments and second exam session

In this section the stages of evaluation are specified to achieve a correct evaluation of the defined competencies. In accordance with the educational objectives of the Master's Thesis, we define the generic and specific competencies to be evaluated.

The evaluation is aimed at helping students to be aware of potential errors and defects. Students will be evaluated by their supervisors (40% of total mark) and board members (60% of the total mark).

The following criteria will be used to evaluate the experimental work:

- Written report

a) Criteria related to the content: title correctness, abstract, introduction (well-defined objectives, motivation, originality, interest and added value of the work), experimental part, description of the methodology, results discussion and conclusions, references …

b)Formal aspects: written text, organization, appropriate use of tables and figures ...

-Oral presentation: organization, clarity, flow of time ...

-Discussion with panellists: answers to questions, considerations, issues related to the acquired skills, understanding the basics of the research methodology (ability to face and solve research problems), ability to communicate in a proper and efficient way, ability to understand, write and speak in English ...

In his/her evaluation, the supervisors also assess aspects related to the personal laboratory work: scientific maturity of the students, ability to work individually, initiative, quality of discussions throughout the work and co-operation within the research group.
